What will ellie do for rhs?

ASPIRATIONS & ACTIONS

PARKING:

  • There is totally hope for student parking! With several different routes to take, I will spend my summer and school year continuing my communications & work on this!

  • I will continue to use my established relationship with City of Seattle and WDOT, and continue to work with them to get negotiations pushed through for street parking

    • work with the Roosevelt Development Group to purchase or rent one of their lots to use as a student parking lot

RHS BLEACHERS:

  • Wish we could have a real Homecoming Football game at RHS? Lacrosse, soccer, etc? I’ll work with admin to get bleachers for our field!

  • Bleachers will increase community, team support, and school spirit!

  • I’ve done all the research, and it is a VERY attainable goal with the right people on the job

SCHOOL LUNCHES:

  • Work with the district & downtown culinary department to get more appetizing school lunches and reduce waste!

  • This is something that SPS has agreed to partner with RHS and other schools in the district on

BATHROOM MIRRORS, DOORS & LOCKS:

  • I have deep ties with the current advocacy chair for the PTSA to actually secure and install these things

  • I’m in contact with her right now about these exact things

SOCIAL & ACADEMIC SPACES:

  • I will work with admin to designate and create more spaces (both indoor & outdoor) for students to gather together, eat lunch, and study

COMMUNITY:

  • RHS NEEDS MORE COMMUNITY EVENTS!

  • I want to make Roosevelt a place people WANT to be and feel like they belong

  • I have dozens of events lined up just waiting to be implemented by the ASR class & clubs next year!

  • For example: Bite Nights! SPIRIT POINTS! Gameshow Nights! Battle of the Bands!

CLUBS:

  • There are so many amazing clubs at Roosevelt!

  • This year, everything with clubs has been quite confusing and all over the place, but I’m currently working with the activities coordinator on a new and improved plan for next year.

  • Having ASR students connected to a couple different clubs each next year to help through fundraising, info nights etc. will really help clubs to thrive!

  • There will be no shortage of club spotlights, club fairs, and fundraisers!

GENDER NEUTRAL BATHROOMS

  • Along with the PTSA and advocacy chair, I will work to make the gender-neutral bathrooms a safe and clean space for our students.

ASR TRANSPARENCY:

  • “What does ASR even do?”

  • I want you to KNOW what’s happening in ASR and feel represented by your class council

  • I’ll work with my team to establish a transparent & live ASR platform to allow all staff & students to know, in real time, ASR’s goals, plans, actions & projects and allow active input from all students & staff

COLLECTIVISM:

  • ASR should be involved in every area of the school. I will work with all clubs and groups across RHS to make sure ALL voices are truly heard and everyone works together to make RHS the best it can be.

  • I plan to improve school climate by working to foster the relationship between teachers, students and admin. I will make sure that an ASR representative is at every BLT, Instructional Counsel, TLC, PTSA, CSIP etc. meeting.

TOWN HALLS:

  • Continue with Max’s initial plan of monthly town hall meetings that anyone in the school can attend and raise their questions & concerns

OFFICE HOURS:

  • I will have open office hours for anyone to come to me personally if they have questions or concerns

ALSO…

  • I won’t pick the same people for every single assembly

  • I will ask student input on assemblies, spirit weeks etc.

  • Address political issues and the happenings of world as a whole school & raise awareness!

  • Use my strong relationship with ADMIN (Ms. Brewer specifically) to make RHS the best it can be!

PSSTT…. I’m ALWAYS in the ASR room! Come to the ASR room basically any day at lunch if you have questions for me about my campaign or ASR!
